California Softball Welcomes Promising 2026 Recruiting Class
Thrilling Addition to the Bears’ Roster
Cal Athletics has announced the signing of five exceptional freshmen to the California Golden Bears softball team for the class of 2026. Head coach Steve Singleton, leading the program as the new head coach, is excited about the potential these athletes bring to the team.
“We are thrilled to announce the signing of five talented student-athletes in the 2026 class,” Singleton stated. “Each brings special skills and abilities to our program. We have added talent in the circle, on the bases, defensively, and at the plate. This is a very well-rounded class and one that will be a major building block for the future of our program. Go Bears!”
Meet the 2026 Class
Malea Ricks – Outfielder from Madera High School
Height: 5’4″
Hailing from Madera, Ricks is no stranger to athletic excellence; her sisters play collegiate softball at Ohio State and Howard. Malea has an impressive track record, being a three-time first-team all-conference honoree and earning both the 2023 Rookie of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year awards during her high school career. A four-star recruit, she is ranked 85th nationally by Softball America.
Charlotte White – Outfielder from Woodrow Wilson High School
Height: 5’8″
From Long Beach, White has proven herself as a vital player for her high school team. She has been recognized as a two-time First-Team All-Moore League member and was named the MVP in 2025 after topping her team in hits, batting average (.486), and on-base percentage (.616).
Emoni Lam Sam – Infielder from Long Beach Polytechnic
Height: 5’5″
Another standout from Long Beach, Lam Sam has made a significant impact with accolades including three-time First-Team All-Moore League recognition, 2024-25 Offensive Player of the Year, and All-CIF Player of the Year (Div. 4). She is also a four-star recruit, currently ranked 74th nationally by Softball America.
Alanna Clincy – Right-Handed Pitcher from Willow Glen High School
Height: 5’6″
Joining the Bears from San Jose, Clincy has led her team to a CIF D2 NorCal Championship as well as three BVAL titles. Individually, she has received numerous awards, including being named a two-time BVAL Pitcher of the Year and receiving both the Bay Area News Group Player of the Year and 49ers CalHi Sports CCS Pitcher of the Year during her junior year.
Emalee Cargill – Infielder from Tracy High School
Height: 5’3″
Cargill hails from Tracy and has already built an impressive list of accomplishments, including recognition as a two-time CalHi Sports All-State First-Team honoree and a two-time TCAL First-Team All-League member. Her achievements have also earned her the title of TCAL Most Valuable Player. A four-star recruit, she ranks 147th nationally according to Softball America.
